Q. How do you decide what to payout?
A. All payouts are based on the carat (gold content), weight and daily prices of gold.

Q. Why can’t I get an instant quote on the phone?
The rates of gold changes daily so if we quote you in advance of receiving your items it will be different from the actual offer, so this is not in the best interest of either party. We also prefer our experts to be able to analyse the materials before any figure is given.

Q. When I bought my jewellery I paid £300. Will I get £300 from you?
A. Retail shops will always mark up the price of the jewellery. Now we pay the melt value of the gold, so craftsmanship is not included when assessing the value of the jewellery, as we are just looking at the price of gold.

Q. What are your payment methods?
A. You have the option to receive your money either by cheque or instant bank payment. If you choose to receive a cheque you will receive it via mail, which will be sent within 24 hours² of the items being valuated. If you opt into receiving your money via bank transfer, you will receive this as soon as we have valuated your items, instantly into your account.

Q. What if I change my mind?
A. If you have elected to be paid by cheque and you do not wish to proceed, you must send the cheque back within 10 days of the date on the cheque, and as soon as we receive this, we will send your gold straight back to you. If you have opted for the bank transfer, we will be unable to do any refunds as stated in the terms and conditions. CashForGold2day are unable to offer refunds or returns under any circumstances if you have elected to be paid by instant bank transfer.

Q. How do I know if my items make it back to you?
A. We use Royal Mail Special Delivery which uses a tracking number so as soon as you have left your Gold Bag at the post office you can track it the whole way back to us, no problem!

Q. What items do you take?
A. We accept anything that contains gold, silver, platinum, palladium and any other precious metals. This includes necklaces, rings, bracelets, watches, charms, cufflinks, earrings, pins and other jewellery. Coins, collectables, silver flatware or similar items are all accepted too. If it contains any form of precious metal we can take it, even dental work!

Q. Can I send precious stones or gems?
A. We will accept any stones or gems sent with jewellery but we are not in the business of recycling these or paying for them, so if you feel they are of some value we would suggest you remove them from the jewellery before sending the item to us.

Q. How long does it take to process my cheque?
A. It only takes 24hours² to process your cheque after the appraisal, but please give sufficient time for Royal Mail to get this to you.

Q. Do you return non-precious items back to me?
A. We do not return non-precious items unless you request the items to be returned to you at your expense. In such cases, we will charge you for the postage costs and the processing in returning these items to you.
